Pathway, a dynamic virtual production studio based in Manchester, is seeking a talented and forward-thinking individual to join our team as an Innovation Lead. As the Innovation Lead at Pathway, you will be responsible for driving creative and technological advancements in virtual production, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in immersive storytelling.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the innovation strategy and vision for virtual production at Pathway, identifying emerging technologies, trends, and creative possibilities within the industry.

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance virtual production workflows and deliver exceptional visual experiences.

3. Research and evaluate cutting-edge technologies, tools, and methodologies related to virtual production, including real-time rendering, motion capture, virtual reality, augmented reality, and machine learning.

4. Explore new storytelling techniques and immersive experiences that leverage virtual production capabilities, ensuring a continuous stream of fresh ideas and concepts.

5. Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the studio, encouraging creative thinking and cross-pollination of ideas among team members.

6. Collaborate closely with the production, art, and technology teams to drive innovation throughout the entire production process, from pre-production to post-production.

7. Lead and facilitate brainstorming sessions, workshops, and hackathons to generate innovative ideas and solutions for virtual production projects.

8. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborations with external organizations, research institutions, and technology providers to stay at the forefront of virtual production innovation.

9. Stay up to date with industry trends, attending conferences, seminars, and other relevant events to expand knowledge and network with industry professionals.

10. Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar role within the film, television, gaming, or virtual production industry, demonstrating a strong track record of driving innovation and implementing cutting-edge solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of virtual production technologies, workflows, and industry trends, with a keen understanding of the creative and technical aspects of the production process.

• Familiarity with real-time rendering engines, motion capture systems, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other immersive technologies.

• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate and implement emerging technologies effectively.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• A creative and visionary mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and challenge traditional approaches to virtual production.

• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve innovative results.

• A passion for storytelling and a deep interest in the convergence of technology and entertainment.
