Description

Pathway, a cutting-edge virtual production studio based in Manchester, is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our team as a Development Producer. As a Development Producer at Pathway, you will be responsible for driving the creative development of virtual production projects from inception to pre-production, ensuring the successful realization of innovative and engaging content.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the creative development process of virtual production projects, including feature films, television series, and interactive experiences.

  2. Collaborate closely with writers, directors, and other creative talent to shape and refine project concepts, storylines, and characters.

  3. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, target audiences, and commercial viability of potential projects.

  4. Develop and maintain relationships with writers, agents, and other industry professionals to source and acquire high-quality intellectual properties for adaptation into virtual production projects.

  5. Prepare pitch materials, including treatments, pitch decks, and presentations, to secure financing, partnerships, and distribution opportunities.

  6. Coordinate and manage the development pipeline, ensuring projects progress smoothly and meet established milestones and deadlines.

  7. Collaborate with the production and finance teams to create and manage project budgets, schedules, and production plans.

  8. Conduct script analysis, provide creative feedback, and oversee script development in collaboration with writers.

  9. Identify and engage potential co-production partners, financiers, and distributors to secure project funding and distribution opportunities.

  10. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market demands to identify new opportunities and keep projects at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Development Producer or in a similar creative development role within the film, television, or gaming industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of the creative development process, including story development, scriptwriting, and project packaging.

  • Familiarity with virtual production techniques, tools, and workflows is a plus.

  • Strong creative instincts and storytelling skills, with the ability to identify compelling ideas and transform them into engaging content.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • A deep passion for storytelling, innovation, and the virtual production industry.

  • A network of industry contacts, including writers, agents, and talent, is preferred.

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a related field is preferred, but not required.
